  • Avengers Endgame is my favorite movie while I don’t think it’s perfect due to the time travel, but to be fair time travel makes absolutely no sense. It’s still has good writing and thanos is my favorite part of the movie. His motivation to eradicate the whole universe and create a new universe believing that his version of the universe would be a perfect one. He’s also menacing. Do you think it’s weird that I don’t think my favorite movie isn’t perfect.

  • Cap dying would’ve been the obvious way to end his story which is one of the reasons whyI think the ending we got was the right one. We were all expecting him to die. He was expecting to die. But his story throughout the entire MCU has always been about becoming more self interested. He started as a guy who is selfless to a fault and he gave the world everything he had to give, principally his life with Peggy in the 20th century. The natural ending to his story is that he gets to reap the rewards of his labor.

  • I know I’m here a year later, but I just re-watched Endgame since my first and only viewing in theaters. The first time, I wasn’t happy with this film. I was extremely upset they were including time travel. Time travel is muddy and causes plot holes... and it didn’t fail to do just that with Endgame. Fast forward to my second viewing. I have a different perspective. I still don’t like the time travel aspect but I’ve decided I really like the movie. It felt like closure. To be fair it’s always felt like closure. Hence the reason why I’m having a hard time caring about anything MCU now. But this time, it felt closure more than last time. I have a feeling of before and after. Anything that follows Endgame will be the after and anything previously will be the before. Iron Man’s death hurt more than last time. I actually cried almost sobbed. We’ve all grown so attached to him over 10 years and now he’s gone. Cap’s retirement made me happy and upset due to the plot holes it created. This is the before with characters that I was attached to. The characters that live on aren’t as developed and if they are we haven’t seen anything about them. Or in Thor’s case he feels like a new character because of his personality and tone changes. The after began to pick up with WandaVision. So far, that’s the only show/movie/arc I’ve liked. I’ll continue to watch but with the mindset that because of the plot holes and multiverse, anything can be reversed. Consequences and positives all can change or not happen because of the plot holes and multiverse.

  • As much as I love showing strong female representation in movies, I feel the overall MCU has done a great job at representing women and the strength and power they have, a lot with out being considered "enhanced" in any way. But the only thing that pulled me out of this movie was when they line up all of the women after "She's got help" because it felt like hardcore pandering. I'd imagine some cheers in a theatre during that, but if they didn't spend nearly as much time lining them up it wouldn't feel like that even if it does make it clear that you're about to see all the women fighting at once. I rewatched it before making this comment, and I think its mostly that they REVEAL who is a female just in case with Potts and the Wasp taking their masks off before engaging. It may have just been too cinematic with the entrances that made it stand out to me. I seriously love the female representation in the whole MCU, with Shuri and Hope and their brains, Okoye, Gamora, Nebula, Black Widow, and Maria Hill, coming to mind as the most vulnerable in attacks with out powers or a super suit but still being awesome as hell. Not to mention Wanda and Carol are like the strongest heroes in the MCU anyways.

  • I think this was a mediocre marvel movie. Much worse than infinity war, but not as bad as like Thor: Dark World or the first Avengers. They had these conflicting ways of storytelling with everyone being depressed and lost but at the same time they cracked jokes constantly. I’m not normally one to complain about funny jokes, but you have Thor being overweight and depressed and everyone is just laughing. It doesn’t work. Speaking of Thor, I didn’t like him being overweight. The joke was funny for the first few minutes but him being fat the whole movie was stale. And he looked so dumb in the final battle. I feel like there should have been a better way to show him go off the rails without making him overweight, like just unkempt and more alcoholic. I kind of liked Professor Hulk but I feel like they should have explained it better. For the first 2 hours of the movie, it doesn’t feel like there are any stakes. I mean, they’ve lost everything so they have nothing more to lose. Of course there are stakes, but the movie doesn’t do a good job of making you feel them; it’s just fun and goofy the whole heist. As for the last hour, it’s just pure fan service. I can’t tell you how much I hate Steve picking up Thor’s hammer. The big fight is cool, but it’s way too gray and doesn’t give enough time to the characters, other than the big three. They also butchered Thanos. I know what you said that we’re seeing him from a different perspective, but if that were the case why would he say that “I hate you guys for the first time this is personal. I’m going to tear this universe down to it’s final atom and kill everyone.” Instead of some fake stoic speech about the greater good. This film still does a lot of good, I think they handled time travel perfectly and I love how Stark, being fortunate enough to still have Pepper, managed to cope and raise a family. BTW my favorite Marvel movie is Guardians of the Galaxy 2, if that’s any indication of what I like in these movies.

Personally, I like EG since it closed the whole mcu beautifully but, if you watch it you need IW first then EG to capture the experience of loss and success of the characters. • This was hands down the best superhero movie ever made. That being said, i won't ever watch it again since i can't see my favourite hero dying. Heroes are not supposed to die but then there's MCU heroes. Tony dies and Loki may not be a traditional hero, but he was a redeemed man and he dies too.

    • The MCU is a one story per villain situation. That's why it feels rushed. Instead of seeing rogues and seeing captured villains come back and torment the heroes more, they all have very final endings. All three iron man villains blow up in the third act. Like, every big moment can only happen once or twice. So they can't say "Avengers assemble" every movie. It's why when stark tower becomes avengers tower, they still just use a warehouse as a base. The movies just grow in scale along with the character's power. They only see each villain once, and the world feels outnumbered with heroes.

    • @Sodium285 If your those people who are so confused on why Far From Home is hated, check out Ninja Winers channel with 333 subscribers and he’ll explain what makes FFH a bad film. But overall, you like the movie it’s technically okay.

      JokerJoker2 tháng trước
    • @Joker Well thanks for respecting my opinion. I'll be honest and say that I'm of the opinion that there is no such thing as a masterpiece, so yeah even my favourite movies like Spider-Man Far From Home, Avengers Endgame, Avengers Infinity War, Logan and Superman have flaws.

      Sodium285Sodium2852 tháng trước
    • @Sodium285 Yet again, I have many reasons what makes Spider-Man Far From Home so flawed. You should really check Ninja Weiners channel who has 333 subscribers and he will tell you why Far From Home is a bad movie. But if you like the film, that is okay :)

      JokerJoker2 tháng trước
    • @Joker I respect your opinion on Spider-Man Far From Home, plus Spider-Man 3's one of my guilty pleasures (alongside the 2 Michael Bay Ninja Turtles Movies and the Theatrical Cut of Justice League). But if we're going on comic book accuracy, that would be like saying the Guardians of the Galaxy Movies are bad just because they're completely different from their source material. For me at least, both MCU Spider-Man Movies carry the core aspects of the character, have great humour and heartfelt stories and excellent character arcs for Peter Parker (One of the reasons I found The Dark Knight to be rather mediocre is because if felt Bruce Wayne had no real arc in that movie or didn't learn anything). To me, Spider-Man is the most relatable Superhero and I feel I can imagine myself in the shoes of Tom Holland's Spider-Man. But again, I respect your opinion.

    • @Elijah Gray can you speak another language? Im austrian but everyone except you understands my english. Besides you speak absolute nonsense. First you say he cant jump into the future, then you say he cant live up until that moment. Its introduced as time travel in the movie, NOT as "universe hopping" AND THATS THE POINT! You cant just come up with how it works after you already called it TIME travel in the movie. All your arguments are wrong. Its absolutely stupid. The entire concept. Its lazy excuse after lazy excuse. Time travel is the most lazy way to solve/end a story. Its lazy writing. You are just a die hard marvel fan, nothing more to say.

      Emil SinclairEmil SinclairTháng trước
    • @Emil Sinclair Lastly, PLEASE fix that grammar. It's difficult to read an entire paragraph about a work of pure fiction, when you can't even comprehend, or even spell correctly.

      Elijah GrayElijah GrayTháng trước

  • I am a technical person, so I liked infinity war better, like you said in the video, better story telling... The time travel plot holes bug me to much to say it's the best, then other plot issues compound that.

    EJ SchwaEJ Schwa2 tháng trước
  • My only issues with the movie is the Lack of Cap and Bucky scenes and the illogical time travel mess. I don't care how you spin it, if you kill your past self, your present self shouldn't live. Banner said if you go back in time it creates a different timeline, but then it was debunked by banner again when he told the ancient one that if he put the stones back in the exact same time they took them it doesn't interrupt their timeline and the alternate universe is erased. I honestly could look past all of that Except for Nebula killing her past self and surviving, or how did it not create a paradox? I would've also liked to have seen Cap and Bucky at least have a fight scene together. I mean they literally had 3 movies about Cap and Bucky's bromance and they should've at least said a proper good bye or had some more scenes together.

    Natalie YbarraNatalie Ybarra2 tháng trước
    • Their time travel rule was easy and actually advised by a real physicist. Think about it, if YOU had their time gps and go back to the past to kill yourself, that will open an alternate future but, because you have the time gps YOU can still go back to YOUR own original timeline. But the alternate future still exists IN A DIFFERENT TIMELINE THAT EXISTS WITHOUT A VERSION OF YOU. By Banner's logic, you can undo it by preventing that mishap. You go back to the exact same moment, seconds before you kill yourself and prevent it by NOT KILLING YOURSELF and that _supposed_ alternate timeline returns to its original, which is YOUR CURRENT TIMELINE. The flow would just return to it's original state. Now, their exists a timeline where there is no Nebula and Thanos due to them dusted in the future (endgame). But this new timeline will not affect the ENDGAME flow of time. Why? Because it exists in different space, different flow of time and different story. *Banner: Changing the past doesn't mean changing your future.* *Scott: So back to the future ( **_it's time travel rules_** ) is a bunch of bullsht?*

The first Iron Man has scenes showing the date 2008, which should have placed, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor in 2009 (based on Justin Hammer), and the Avengers in 2010 (based on Nick Fury). I liked Endgame, but it ruined the timeline worse than Spiderman Homecoming lol

    • @Venez2022 Honestly, I think lit was made from the weird way that "Marvel's Big Week" came about. By the time Iron Man 2 was released, The Incredible Hulk was already out, so they tied those together with the After Credits scenes of both, and Coulson leaving Tony sets up Thor. But Iron Man 2 was released in 2010, Thor was released in 2011, and the Avengers was released in 2012, so both Justin Hammer's and Nick Fury's "last year" remarks might have been mostly confused and ignored, and the public fanbase accepted the Avengers irl release date as its chronological date. I think the best solution is to ignore Justin Hammer's remark as a non-literal generic term, since we see a ton of response to Tony's reveal with several magazines, several organizations (including Hammer and Ivan Vanco) try to recreate their own suits, and we see the reintroduction of Stark Expo. It's easy to imagine all of that happening in more than one year. And we honestly don't know how long it takes to get Polateum poisoning (or how long Tony has been trying to suppress it). That way, we can still hIron Man take place in 2008, but Marvel's Big Week could probably be pushed back as far as 2011 if we just ignore one single line by Justin Hammer lol

    • @Venez2022 But what about the 2012 mistake. The first Iron Man was confirmed to take place in 2008 (footage in the movie has a 2008 time stamp taking place after Tony escapes the cave. 2016's Civil War reinforces it with Vision saying "in the 8 years Stark declared himself as Iron Man..." Iron Man 2 confirms that "Marvel's Big Week" takes place early 2009, stating that the events of Iron Man took place just a year prior, which means both The Incredible Hulk and Thor also take place in 2009. Then in the Avengers, Fury mentions that Thor's events were just a year before the Avengers. All of this should place the Avengers in 2010, not 2012. The Homecoming timestamp would still be wrong by 2 years, but so is Endgame by 2 years in the other direction. It's also noticeable that in Infinity War, Stark says he was plagued by their predicament for "6 years," and that would also be off if Stark was talking about the events in Avengers. So the timeline is still in shambles even though people forget that the Avengers was originally pegged as a 2010 event.

    • @Richard Reed it's not so much a messed up timeline, just a continuity error on a character's progression and arc. They were careless about Wonder Woman's overall character arc. Like giving her the ability to fly when she clearly never used such an ability in BvS and Justice League. But hey, it happened in Marvel too when they messed up Nick Fury's character arc with Captain Marvel (by ignoring the established history of Fury working for SHIELD since at least the 70s, and made him a rookie in the 90s lol).

  • I think Endgame was one of the worst MCU movies. Instead of getting a nice movie with an interesting plot, we just got 3 hours of fan service. Really lazy choice, considering the awesome job that was done with Infinity war. Endgame had its moments but still huge disappointment, especially given the build up to this movie!

    • @Richard Reed I agree with some of the things you said, including that there was way too much humor given the stakes. The one thing I didn't like was that the final battle did not feel like 1 in whatever number Dr. Strange predicted that the Avengers would win. On the contrary, Thanos got so destroyed by Captain Marvel that it almost felt as if Thanos had the 1 in whatever number of winning. Also the idea for time travel was too simple given how much they were hiping the plot before the release. Agree with other things you said though
