  • Thanks a ton for this video. As someone starting out new, and rather intimidated by the other "noob" videos, this gives me a solid goal and understanding of the basic steps. Thank you!

  • I would like to add that while cutting further away from the model on the sprue is a good practice if you are newer experiance and better tools (god hand nippers are expensive but worth the money) make it easy to cut nearly flush.

  • Their models look waaay better than my first Space Marine, and I spent over €30 on the paint set 😬

  • I prefer to prime the models while they are on the things they come on, then cut them out and then paint them while it is all apart. It makes it easier to paint and it feels so satisfying when you glue it together and it is done

  • Does it matter what colors you choose for space marines? I want to try to add my own little spin on them, maybe have a little joke where I paint some of them with like a brownish color pallet since their my little "shitters". I'm asking because I don't know how that would work in a tournament, because my opponent would have no idea which space marine faction I'm running. I don't know how that would work competitive wise. I really want to get into Warhammer and want to know as much as I can

  • great video and has helped me a lot. I'm a complete beginner age 26 only just starting out! One thing I'm finding it hard to find is where to start with actually learning about Warhammer, not just the painting. Have you got any links/tips on where to start on this? thanks

  • Currently painting the AdMechs as my first every build, and I came across the exact problem you demonstrated of assembling them altogether without considering the difficulty of painting them in places. Fortunately I've only put 6 together so far so I know for the future how to better deal with this.

  • So I know that this video is a bit older at this point, but I just wanted to say this is a phenomenal help. I've just ordered a starter set for Kill Team to try and bring me into the hobby, and I've been somewhat nervous about painting. Never been very good at painting or drawing or anything of that sort, but I feel that knowing a lot more about the techniques and being walked through it makes me feel a lot better about the steps associated with the task. It's looking really cool and fun and I can't wait to get started!

  • BY THE EMPEROR DO NOT START WITH SKITARII!!! They are waaaay to detailed to paint in the beginning. Start with either necrons or space marines, overall they have less details. The worst thing to do is starting with something to complicated and giving up because you think this is how everything will be. NO SH*T you chose one of the most difficult to paint armies -_-.

  • Another useful basing material if you don't have sand or fancy texture paints - the leaves from a used teabag. Leave them out to dry for a couple of days, and even one bag will base quite a few models... I'd assume coffee grounds would work well, too...

  • Genuine question, please feel free to respond as i'd love to hear your thoughts. Why not "base coat" each individual item the color you want it to be over the primer and drybrush in one uniform color like white or grey or black (or even dry brush each part a different color)? I typically basecoat each major individual piece on it's own color so i don't have to add the extra layers later and "waste paint". I know it would take more time and maybe a different amount of cleanup, so i'm just curious. Are my priorities weird or does it truly not matter either way? Is your way faster than mine?

    Shawn BradenShawn BradenTháng trước
    • Another genuine question, why dry brush before washing and not the other way around? It's now i've always done it and other mini painters seem to do so as well. Genuinely curious please respond!

  • Great video. Can you recommend what miniatures to buy.... on the basis that we are only interested in painting to create statues, it’s more the experience of painting rather than the board game stuff. We’d be after mythical creatures, trolls, dragons etc. Not keen on space marines. Also see that the Warhammer stuff is expensive - is it a case of getting what you pay for in quality?
