  • I’m just now finding this video but, wow! I became super interested in D&D after playing a horrible version of the game with a friend and his brothers. Fast forward 2-3 years and i found Critical Role. After watching clips of them on VIworld I started watching them livestream and now I really want to play D&D with people but I have no one to play with and no friends who’ll play. It sucks and I really want to play soo badly. I can’t afford the handbook or whatever to learn the rules but I just want to experience the amazingness that is Dungeons&Dragons.

  • I live abroad in Japan. Lots of the friends I’ve made through D&D in the states and I would play over a Face to Face call, and having the weekly game sessions would make it worth it when schools were closed or when I felt isolated and alone away from my friends and family. This game has brought me such joy and watching this video tells me that I’m in the right community. When other folks with their own experiences are healing through this game, it’s got to be a good game

  • I only wish that [most] D&D players tried other TRPGs. D&D is often the gateway for people into TRPGs . . . and then they just stop. There are so many amazing game systems and settings out there. It's like learning about Monopoly and going "This is the only board game that matters." Again, all I'm saying is this: Try other systems. There are tons. They focus on different elements. Many of them do better the things D&D claims it does well. Ironsworn, Burning Wheel, The One Ring, Torchbearer, Dungeon World . . . all great systems that emphasize different types of play and use mechanics to reinforce the social at-the-table games exceptionally well.

  • Just like Matt Colville always says, Dungeons & Dragons is that one hobby that whatever you're good at, you will surely enjoyed given the right company. If you enjoy math, you'll enjoy the dice. If you like drawing, you can make character portraits or even maps. If you love sculpting, sculpt minis. If you love painting, paint those minis. Whatever you want to do, there is a place for it in D&D.

John Yrel ObdamenJohn Yrel Obdamen2 tháng trước
  • The far left narrative that the hobby was the domain primarily of socially inept straight white male outcasts due to gatekeeping is freaking hilarious. And it’s a good indication about the far left’s true objectives in taking over the hobby. Roleplayers have been quite inclusive from day 1. Now some (many of them being the same bullies we all wanted to escape) want to flip the script and pretend they were the ones shut out.

That and the game lets me just unwind and just get away from the world, even if it’s just for a few hours a month. I’m playing a Kobold Rogue right now, and working on making a Dragonborn Barbarian.

  • OMG! If possible, D&D has to crossover with the DCEU and the MCU. Imagine D&D with the Shazam Universe with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Constantine, Dr Strange, X-Men, Dr Fate! Especially, Constantine, Dr Fate, Zatanna and Dr Strange!! Come on WB employ Keanu Reeves in Constantine and crossover with D&D, Shazam, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and many more! DC and MCU needs to cross universe one day to expand the storytelling!!

  • I dunno, maybe vulnerable children who have hobbies related to fantasy escapism, some of them ended up committing suicide because they felt ostracized and alone? That no one could understand them and that they don't belong? Which was why they turn to things like D&D to forget those things for a while but often times reality caught on and they just drown in it? Of course, that's ridiculous. It's definitely the games, the toys, the books, and the tv shows that are at fault. Totally.
