  • I would like ot say it is great the way that we get to involved in the imaginary words. ( which I love) and we even look all the way into the past looking at the bloodlines (fictions) and we defend them as they were our own bloodline. we want so much to make the stories real so we can live in those worlds ( again I love them ) dont get me wrong I am not saying nothing negative, just saying what I see and my opinion. I also want to be part of those worlds. I do enjoy your videos and love the way that both of you put theories together. and I enjoy the passion you both give, and if you are right or not, it is ok because you voice out what we all are thinking. • I finally got the Abernathy thing figured out. Grindelwald used high level transfiguration to transform himself and Abernathy. And he uses precise apparition to land on the carriage. Then the ensuing scene plays out. For why he went after the carriage, apparition has a fairly short range on a global scale, he needed a method back to Europe.

  • What if Credence is Ariana’s obsourus taking a new form? Remember in the first one, Grindewald didn’t even know the gender of the obsourus. My last theory is Credence soul goes into Fawkes and so like Niagi, he is there through the main series and leaves Hogwarts after his brother dies in book 6. Also would make Harry and Voldemort connected to him.

    BillNyeGuyBillNyeGuyTháng trước
  • Interesting theory of when the pact was made. If before the fight I thought Ariana dying was a consequence of breaking that vow. I would have expected that alaforth fort grindy and albus tried to protect his siblings but even that was "illegal" and their sister paid the price. Albus not directly fighting Grindelwald would have made his brother believe he was too infatuated with his to help, and he would have seen that as a betrayal.

  • I think that this film was sorta like the order of the phoenix book. There is just so much information that you can't really appreciate until you finish the series and see how amazingly everything ties in. I personally loved both this film and that book, but the first time I read OotP I was so overwhelmed by how much we learned. I think after all 5 films come out, we will be able to appreciate this one more.

  • My interpretation of the first scene is that the first shot of the movie, Grindelwald locked up in a room, he and Abernathy have already switched places. They cut out Abernathy's tongue and Abernathy is in the carriage. Then Grindelwald, who is disguised as Abernathy, hands over a FAKE wand and blood pact, which is how Abernathy has the pact in the carraige, and Grindelwald has the wand on the ledge. He chases after the carraige because it still has Abernathy and the blood pact. I think that Grindy and Abernathy are both metamorphmagi, which is how Grindelwald could change into Graves and Abernathy, and Abernathy could change into Grindy and that lady in Paris.

  • The Last Jedi ruined the whole new trilogy for me, TFA was pretty OK, it wasn't amazing, but it was good IMO, but TLJ went too far "subverting expectations" and just ruined the new trilogy for me, which on one hand goes to prove Ben's point about fandoms being "bad" for the writing process, but I truly believe it was less of wanting that "I am your father" moment, and more of Rian Johnson having some deep-seeted hatred for the Star Wars fandom. Though I will say, I LOVED Rogue One and Mandalorian so my hopes for future Star Wars are high (Super hype for the Ahsoka standalone series) But to Ben's point, GoT [SPOILERS AHEAD FOR GAME OF THRONES] ACTUALLY did have that "I Am Your Father" moment with Jon Snow being Rhaegar and Leanna's son, and every single book reader knew it was coming. It wasn't necessarily the same all around, book readers already suspected, but didn't have hard confirmation, show only watchers did get that same feeling of OMG I didn't see that coming, unless they went in further than just the show on forums or whatnot, or were just REALLY good at putting things together from the very VERY little the show gave us leading up to it. Also, as disappointed I was with the last season of GoT, Arya killing the Night King and Bran becoming the King at the end were both fairly well done examples of subverting expectations, though the Arya bit was all but spoiled about 10 minutes before it happened, which was disappointing. (I actually really loved the Battle of Winterfell episode, despite the "lighting issues," and did predict Bran on the Iron Throne, but wasn't really satisfied with that ending)

  • I disagree, I believe it was grindlewald standing on the ledge. If you look when he is asked to hbd over the blood pact, the look of reluctance on his face says it all. He didn’t want to give it up because he could have gotten away home free, but since she told him to give the blood pact to the aurors then he HAD to follow the carriage.

  • One thing that everyone ignores is the costuming. The first movie was great, 1920s inspired, with the background characters wearing historically accurate pieces. However, CoG, while being set in the same year, jumps about a decade forward. It's like they're trying to fast forward to the Second World War subliminally, or they gave the costume director the wrong memo. Also, robes. No one is wearing any. Even back at Hogwarts, where they should be wearing robes, they're not. It's like JK is just scrapping her own lore to make Dumbledore a thirst trap. I think in the first movie, having them wear robes in the Speakeasy, would have been a good way to acknowledge their culture (speaking from an Indigenous Australian pov, where we could only practice traditional culture in secret), and bring that element of magic back into the series that is kind of lacking in the FB franchise.

  • For the whole Aurelius Dumbledore thing, I think that Grindelwald is definitely lying. With all of the information that we have about the Dumbledore family tree and Credence, it just does not line up for him to be a Dumbledore. The way I rationalize the pheonix is that we know that a phoenix comes to a Dumbledore "in desperate need" and the thing is, the phoenix didn't "come" to Credence, Grindelwald handed it to him, and Credence wasn't in "desperate need" at that moment. I think it is totally misleading and not a great thing for them to pull in the grand scheme of things, but I think that that is how they will explain it in the end.

  • The reason Grindlewald rescues Abernathy is because he isn't voldemort. He does actually have the ability to care about people. And he has a image to uphold regardless, of being a man of the people. Having someone take the fall for him, have his tongue removed, and Grindwald righting all of that makes perfect sense. He's trying to be the hero. Not the villain lol. Easy

  • This video makes me kinda sad as a storyteller, cause as I watched it. Yes, a lot of good things in this video is correct, but at the same time: most of what this video is, isn't actually though what should've happened. And moreover, this movie was just bad. It prioritized effects over actual storytelling.... Which is ALWAYS a bad move.

  • I have a question. So at the end after the aurors defeat the protego diabolica of griderwald we see that the niffler is able to steal the blood pact. Which is usually always on Grinderwald's person. How is this possible? Because we know that the flames only let people who are loyal to Grinderwald in so how is the Newt's Niffler able to steal it?

  • OMG, it just came to me. So Grindelwald this whole time was positive that the Obscurial was a girl. That's why he kept telling Credence to find the girl. What if he had actually taken Ariana's obscurial and imbedded it into a new born but didn't know if the baby was a girl or a boy. That would explain why he said, let me restore your name.

  • The “Brother Wand” was actually just the original Prop wand they made for Dumbledore in the film, it does look very very similar to the Elder wand which is why they changed it to the new wand, they had to do a bunch of reshoots to fit in the changed wand, you can however google the original wand prop as prop masters have mentioned that particular problem in a few interviews

The only time we have seen transportation from each realm to the next has been through small portals such as platform 9 3/4, telephone booths or portkeys. • Maybe Abernathy was pretending to be Grindelwald the whole time and Grindelwald was pretending to be Abernathy in the ministry and spying and getting intel on Creedence and the Scamander boys. Abernathy if he does had shapeshifting as a power would be a very good asset to Grindelwald and also maybe worth saving? Then the intro would make more sense, also Grindelwald knew exactly where he needed to go straight out of prison (to paris) and the swapping bodies in the escape makes sense then too? This would ALSO tie in how he knew about Queenie and how to persuade her if he was spying on the ministry and would also have been able to line up the bounty hunter there too!

  • Seeing the First scene now a bunch of times is not so complicated to explain. I think Grindelwald switch places with Abbernathy before they take off his tongue and before the transportation occurs. Now, why does he stays if he has all the things he needed? That's pretty simple, either way he escapes or don't, the ministries will find out that he had escaped. If he escape previous the transportation, somehow they will find out, but Grindelwald is a gifted strategist so he needed that every moves counts in someway, he needed the impact on the news, he needed to be picture as invencible and unstopable at the eyes of the public because he needs his army, his followers, so he stays. He interpretates Abbernathy and does that marvelous escape so the world knows that he can not be contained. That's my interpretation of the first scene. The only thing that I have doubt is: when Abbernathy turn sides or was he all the time a Grindelwald follower?

  • Fred Darsow 21 hours ago One of the best films of the Rowling series. The beauty of the film is in its complexity and how things are so intricately tied together on so many levels. The intention was to make the "structure" like a puzzle. For all the ones who were confused with the film (??!!!??) There IS a core plot-- Grindelwald escapes-- he begins his wicked plot-- there are a group of comrades that attempt to stop him, he does acquire his biggest weapon, but Newt has acquired one as well and gives it to Dumbledore. "The end" and ready for the next episode. Then, there are many subsidiary plot lines that make it richer, detailed and complex. The intelligence of the film is that it connects wonderfully with the Harry Potter films, but at the same time it has a completely different plot, characters and, there are the animals that many viewers don't seem to be able to appreciate. They bring such a unique creativity and fun that to the film.
