The consumer system encourages individualism and markets an identity to the people, whereas the fight club encourages collectivism through the destruction of individualism. • Fight Club is an anecdote about insubordination to the norm and a supplication for the straightforward life. It reprimands the manners by which we are so hung up on security, and material belongings, and how individuals let accepted practices direct their lives.

  • In a way Fascism will be better than capitalism and mass consumerism...Because instead of contributing towards the virility of the conglomerates we'll be controlled by an Authoritarian who at least will have a collective purpose for his subjects to serve(even wretched) rather than stacking fat dollar bills. And yes fascists impose inhumane measures on the society but It's observed that humans on a collective level feel much more closer when they're under excruciatingly agonizing premises(Reference TRIBE: Sebastian Junger). So we'll be less desolate and frustratingly depressed when under a fascist regiment. Just a midday thought to consider.

  • The philosophy that the movie promotes is fascism, which cannot be compared to an economic system like capitalism because economics is not the function of the state. The function of the state is the preservation of a people, their culture, and the fatherland, which is something that the disciples of capitalism and democracy could not possibly understand, as they are intellectually inferior, believing the key to self-improvement to be nothing more than the acquisition of green, paper rectangles. The movie criticizes the tenets and values of capitalism and democracy: Egalitarianism, consumerism, hedonism, and nihilism. Fascism does that as well.

  • Fight club's main ideology can be seen through one sentence of Tyler, "you are the same decaying organic matter as everything else". What differs Tyler's mayhem group from the system is that system tells everyone they are special, useful, either they are loved or they deserve to be loved, that their everyday meaningless job has a purpose, and so on things that we hear from help groups, self-help books, religions, patriotism(for soldiers risking their lives), and basically everything the system offers. What makes it even more impossible to free ourselves from this way of living is because society is the system and the system is society. And as social animals, we want to be around society. What differs project Mayhem from capitalism(the system) is that Tyler made these people into working machines but he didn't lie to them he told them the truth that their lives are so meaningless they don't even need names. People use consumerism to uphold(reinforce) the lie the system(capitalism) tells them. They consume consume consume until they feel complete. They constantly look for perfection(which they see on social media, religion, and TV) when deep down they know it's impossible. This idea is sold to us every single day through literally everything! Movies, Social media, TV, advertising billboards, Music, VIworld, advertisements, Porn, and Religions. Every component of the system reinforces one another. Religions especially Christianity, Islam, and the new trend of spirituality, consciousness, and that we are energy connected to everything in the universe give people the illusion that humans are the center of the universe that everything is about them, and that they are the center of the story. This is a manipulation of humanity's nature that we will always seek for a purpose for our sufferings. Not only this but advertisements and the rest that I mentioned use human biology against us. By understanding how our brain functions big companies exploit it to turn us into mindless consuming zombies waiting in line for hours to get the new iPhone. Fight club reminds us that when we reach rock bottom we will see that we are nothing more than organic compounds arranged in a certain way forming our DNA and the rest of our body. We don't need phones, computers, internet, brand cloth, fancy food, fancy cars, first-class tickets, a huge mansion overlooking the ocean. What we truly need is what our hunter-gatherer ancestors needed for their survival our bodies and brain. That's why we can't escape our thoughts and that's why a cripple or an autistic person no matter how rich and powerful will still be a cripple or an autistic person(not trying to offend anyone what I mean by this is our bodies and our brain is what we truly have and sometimes we won't even be in control of those). The men in the fight club beat each other senseless because they are men! It is 4.5 billion years of evolution that led to masculinity and modern society tells us that isn't "civil" that we have "anger issues" that we need to talk or cry about it but that is fighting all those billions of years of evolution although it is possible it's still a waste of our time and energy. And fighting against nature is pointless because unlike us nature doesn't have limited time and energy. And fighting against our nature also takes a very high amount of our time and energy which is why many people fail at controlling their "anger issues" because it is a useless and tiring task. So instead of settling for what the system gives us(which is dead-end white-collar jobs), we should do what Tyler told the liquor store clerk to do chase our dreams but we need to understand that the dream capitalism sells us which is working white-collar jobs then end up rich after years of grunting, being famous, being rich as bill gates, most times are impossible no matter how much talent we have or how hard we work simply because those big dreams also require LUCK! This is what I took out of fight club am not sure if I went out of fight club's ideology I added some of my own as well. and sorry about my grammar English isn't my first language.

  • [5:28] I find a bit of a problem with Capitalism. Individuals that are so hardcore into Capitalism become what Psychologists know as "Narcissists" and" "psychopaths". Always focused on the "material" and since they have no sense of "worth" from within, they have to turn to superficial items to make themselves feel better. Then have to keep repeating the process, when all it does is waste money and just temporarily makes them feel better. How "psychopaths" live like that is beyond me? 🤷‍♀️

  • fight club is about a spiritual awakening process that happens unconsciously and is caused by suffering. his subconscious mind creates a hallucination - Tyler Durden, who shows him what he needs to change in his life to end the suffering: 1. stop identifying with the ego. (e.g. destruction of the ego of the project mayhem recruits, losing fights intentionally ) 2. stop identifying with the roles you play in a hypocritical society that worships fakeness. 3. stop identifying with the things you own. letting go of attachment 4. live in the present moment as conscious as possible. 5. be what you really are.

  • He describes capitalism early on with the baker making a pie, it's corporations and corporatism with the soulless machines and conveyor belts manufacturing things, a person owning their own property and selling their services or goods and a customer engaging in purchasing these goods is simple capitalism. A large corporate entity which serves to only ensure it's own growth and survival and looks at people as numbers trying to find data to get people to buy, to get people to engage in consumerism, instead of just going to their local shops to get what they need are two different things. A capitalist is lumped in with these corporations for decades most likely due to propaganda, corporate CEOs even they call themselves capitalists but it's more likely to humanize their actions, or to shame people into allowing them to do what they do, kind of like "you can't hate capitalism it's what makes this place so great" which people do like capitalism but the what they do is not capitalism it's a corporate monstrosity that grew so large and makes so much everything is disposable, every person just a cog in their machine, not the dream of a person who wants to make their skills into a living by selling those skills to people who need it, does the CEO sell his skills or labor or his product to you, no he does not, he is in charge of operations of a big business that owns factories that create products, so no he is not a capitalist with his business, the CEO is a person put in charge of running operations smoothly because they know how to maximize profits off of what they're put in charge of, that's their skill, but they also need to be less merciful in their running of their employees again to ensure maximum profit, it's not a simple person selling their wares, it's a bunch of people that pull levers and type on computers, and watch as machines make things to ship off for sale.

That character then tries to reverse the movement they started by warning the current vanguards, but fails and is punished for going against their own.

The only way I can see to break the cycle is to become an observer of society and live, society is the great illusion not seeing the Forrest for the tree's, reality for what reality is.
